We believe sustainability should not be a collection of individual actions but an ongoing conversation between our team, clients, and the companies we partner with, to find doable solutions to the problem.

We have approached this with baby steps, and we are proud to share the results of our recent achievements with you. We are always keen and open to suggestions so, please don't be shy.

As AlbertTucker@Karma cola said,

"We can't change the world if we don't change the way we're doing business"

  • Free water

At Street Studios, we think free things should remain free. To help us to reduce our carbon footprint, we have removed the still glass water bottles from our provisions fridges and asked our staff to ditch the plastic water bottles.

We have purchased a fancy water filter machine from Thirsty Work and refillable glass bottles for our clients to have crispy fresh water every day, any day, for free.

  • Just One Tree

We know that offsetting our carbon footprint alone is not the answer, but it should be an integral part of the way we do business.

Our clients have the option to contribute £1 per shoot to Just One Tree, and we will match their donation. With each shoot, we will be planting two trees together.

  • Giggler Apple Juice

Grown in Tim's Orchard at Grove Farm in Suffolk, apples are grown in the pesticide-free land of the Chapman family.

They are hand-picked, pressed, and bottled on-site to create the perfect Giggler juice. Each bottle travels only a hundred miles to the studio in Tim's van, fiercely guarded by Ronnie, his springer spaniel.

  • Karma Drinks

You will find our fridges are full of Karma cola and her friends, Lemony Lemonade, Gingerella and organic Razza. Read about Karma Drinks’ fantastic initiative and company ethos.

  • Catering

We have gone 100% disposable cutlery free, service, leaving behind the single-use packaging. We dress our service table in cotton and linen table cloth, cutlery, plates and glasses. Washable and reusable as it should be.

  • Provisions

We are proud to offer a selection of delicious provisions from planet conscious companies, such as Tonyschocoloney, Real crisp and The Curators. Please read about their inspiring work.

  • Electricity and gas

We changed our energy suppliers to Electricity - EDF on a carbon-neutral plan & British Gas on a green renewable tariff. See our post here.

  • Food Waste

We have re-introduced food waste bins in every studio. Food waste collected by Hackney council is sent to an anaerobic digestion facility in southeast England, where it’s turned into renewable energy to power homes and biofertiliser to be spread on local farmland to grow crops.

  • Cleaning products

The team are always on the hunt for new products that reduce the impact on our planet. We currently use Fill refill, an eco-responsible, vegan, no chemical, biodegradable refill company. In addition, their products smell damn good.

  • Green links

We want to share an initiative from AdGreen, the shoot Carbon Calculator. Head over to their website to learn more about what you can do to make your shoot greener. To explore this further, check out We are Albert, the industry's handbook with lots of ideas and free training on sustainability for Film and TV.

  • Say it

Have you spotted something? Any ideas or thoughts? We realized we needed to keep this an open conversation to get it right, so we added sustainability to our weekly meeting agenda. Please email all suggestions to mariana@streetstudios.co.uk
